Domination and Energy Drain

If anyone remembers the Lorenzo's Land celebrations, they will understand this idea. You win a race by being an arsehole to others and then "plant" a flag to claim territory. Valentino Rossi did this too many times. He would plant a toilet booth instead of a flag. Scratch his bottom on the way out of the pits, and then use dick moves on the track. Marc Marquez mastered it again and has taken it to the next level. Some of the gentler riders have taken it onboard and became "EVIL" - Bagnaia won his 2nd world championship like this.

It never works long-term. All EVIL champions fall from grace. Look at Rossi, Lorenzo, and the recent years of Marquez's career. Some might remember when Dani Pedrosa was not the "gentleman" rider it was in the final few years of his career.

Kevin Schwantz was perhaps the first of the riders like this. Now look at the current roster compared to the Golden Era MotoGP/500cc and World Superbikes. Look at Pedro Acosta - a rider to whom other riders do not exist. Marquez "rediscovering" his old self by cutting Jorge Martin off in the Australian Grand Prix - this is all "Lorenzo's Land". A land that is small and not very nice.

Draining energy from your opponents will have the opposite effect of what you need. Your wins will be short-lived. Some may call you the Greatest Of All Time, but you will not have much time to enjoy your "wins".
